She is implying that Rathma had a choice…that she wasn’t plotting to infringe upon his free will and even hoped that if he declined, he would accept later of his own volition. This is…odd…when we are made to believe that Lilith is a force of corruption and her intentions are truly malevolent. She even laments over him not having the choice to join her and goes on to say that she would have saved his place, even if he didn’t. Lilith now likely believes Inarius murdered their son and displayed genuine remorse and anger…whereas we’ve been led to believe that she’s entirely evil up until this point. With how things are playing out, it feels as though we’re all being heavily manipulated by unseen forces. This, however, may be a bait and switch…with someone else having gotten to Rathma before Inarius ever managed to reach his inner sanctum. This is what we’re led to believe by the visions of events that unfolded. It’s assumed Inarius murdered Rathma for refusing to provide him the key.
